Rob is an environmental scientist. He became “accidentally” involved in festivals and events nearly 20 years ago, helping to run the Croissant Neuf area at Glastonbury Festival– one of the longest established venues on the site and an area that is completely solar powered.

Since then, he has become an experienced freelance event production & site manager, working at Glastonbury every year that it has taken place and also amassing a wealth of experience at many other unique events including Kendal Calling, Festival No. 6 and the Croissant Neuf Summer Party – a fully featured family festival run entirely on solar power with no diesel generators.

Over the last couple of years, Rob has been working with the Glastonbury Festival infrastructure team on a variety of environmental projects, including initiating and managing a monitoring project in partnership with power provider Aggreko and academic research partner the University of the West of England, that looks at the efficiency of temporary power systems on the festival site.

It is Rob’s dream to see festivals and events become as sustainable as possible and for them to prove that this is not only better for the environment, but also makes for a better experience for the audience with potentially less cost/more profit for the event in the long run…

Jurgis Pranas Didžiulis Valencia a.k.a. Jurgis Did is a Colombian-Lithuanian sing-songwriter, frontman, and producer that has been a chameleon on the Lithuanian music scene for well over 10 years. Unafraid to change colors, he has made very different music, won numerous awards and garnered many hits with “InCulto” (2003-2010), “The Ball & Chain” (2011-2013), and “TWNKL” (2008-2010)”. In 2013 he told himself, that life was too short to not be playing exactly what his heart craves. And so began his lonely solo career.

He taught himself to play hardware electronics and created new instruments in search of a format that would allow him to explore flexibly. “I wanted an electronic feeling, but I wanted to be able to invoke it ‘live’ each time around, so that it could mutate, react, adapt and grow.” The result is an unpredictable mixture of styles that range from latin-cumbia to dance-punk, minimal-house decorated with wildlife sounds to dub-flavored reggaeton. “It’s actually a caricature of all the shit my ears have been scarred with over the years.” During live performances this stylistic potpourri is held together with a heavy dose of humor, theatrics, interactive stunts, improvisation and satire. Besides being a seasoned showman, he is a songwriter that firmly believes music is a hypnotic spell that helps us convey a meaningful message.

Jurgis Did first solo album (intro/extro) is unabashedly non-commercial. “We don’t sell the sacred things in our lives, but we’re often happy to share them. That’s the mindset I wanted to be in this first personal exploration.” It was released on a series of MC audiocassettes in early 2015, partly because the double-sided format was the only way to conceptually “marry” distinctly conflicting musical directions, partly because of the bootleg and mix tape heritage.

Jurgis Did has worked for the past year with #reanimacija, an initiative that utilizes music and art as a form of social healing and exchange, rather than a pedlable commodity. He has forged a reputation as an outspoken, socially active, forward thinking musician who has as much to say, as he has to play.
